Estimate

The cost estimation application identifies, extracts and integrates model quantities and construction costs. Running models through cost data content allows Glue users to program cost impact on specific project phases and to test cash flow scenarios in advance. Users can create complete project budgets and evaluate the cost impact of building component subsets. This application targets the decision making processes by aggregating the cost data simultaneously with design and consruction visualizations.

Takeoff: This function identifies the different object levels within the model and assigns them quantities. The added export feature enables saving the results as an Excel spreadsheet. Users can group model components at different levels to develop an overall scope.

Budget: Once a particular takeoff scope is defined, the budget function links this scope to the cost database (RS-Means or company specific) to generate a live budget with the linked project controls system.

Cost Data: This function links model data directly to the specific construction cost database, enabling accurate, updated data for estimating building component costs on the spot. The process of extracting specific cost data requires first defining the desired geographic cost database and then isolating the specific building components from the model.
