About us :: Leadership

David del Villar
David del Villar is a Spain licensed architect with more than 10 years of design and construction experience.

Prior to leading Horizontal, David represented Pritzker Prize winner Rafael Moneo in the US for three years during the construction of a state-of-the-art nanotechnology building at Harvard University. For more than 5 years, David worked for LVMH fashion group where he managed projects internationally from concept to implementation. He has also worked for architects such as Shigeru Ban and Rem Koolhaas.

As part of his doctoral research he has authored the book “Understanding Outsourcing Architectural Services”, published by Harvard Design School.

David has Doctor of Design and Master in Design Studies degrees from Harvard University with a concentration in Project Management. David's doctoral dissertation focused on global remote collaboration between architectural teams.

Ivan Panushev
Ivan Panushev has assisted private and governmental organizations with the standardization and implementation of innovative design and building technologies for the past 10 years.

He developed an implementation framework for Building Information Modeling (BIM) as part of his doctoral dissertation at Harvard University. While at Harvard, he directly contributed to the GSA BIM Guide and facilitated BIM implementation of government projects.

Prior to leading Horizontal, Ivan served as Vice President of Engineering at Building Works, Inc., where he managed the development of national building standards adopted by the International Code Council (ICC). As part of his work he has authored two books on building technologies published by McGraw-Hill:
- Insulating Concrete Forms Construction with Pieter Vanderwerf, (2004).
- Concrete Systems for Homes and Low-Rise Construction with P. Vanderwerf, M. Nicholson, and D. Kokonowski, (2005).

Ivan holds degrees in Master in Design Studies and Bachelor in Engineering Sciences from Harvard University.

Jordan Brandt
Jordan Brandt brings a diverse toolset to the construction industry with professional experiences spanning the fields of Building Technology, Materials Science and Aerospace Engineering.

Upon completion of a Bachelor’s in Architecture degree from the University of Kansas, Jordan learned parametric modeling and Product Lifecycle Management strategies at Boeing. He subsequently transferred this knowledge to engineering and production systems at A. Zahner Company as well as the structural engineering office of Adams, Kara, Taylor in London where he led their Building Information Modeling program. Jordan also directed the technical initiative of an Office of Naval Research grant with Royal Plastics Mfg., wherein next generation rapid manufacturing and material systems were optimized to ‘print’ functional aircraft parts. Additionally, he served as an advisor to the GSA on the use of laser scanning technologies as part of GSA funded research at Harvard University.

An expertise in digital design and manufacturing ultimately led Jordan to doctoral studies at Harvard University, where he developed a system to manufacture building enclosures on-site with fiber composite materials.
